Class Registration Information

Co-op members: Pay at time of registration, either by phone and charge class fees to your Co-op account which you can pay when you come in to shop, or in person at the Customer Service Desk.

Non-members: to register you will need to either pay at the store when you register or give us a credit card number when you call in your registration.

Cancellations will be fully refunded if called in 24 hours prior to the class. Classes also have minimums; in cases where minimum class size is not reached three days prior to class, the class may be cancelled. To register or cancel, call (563) 382-4666 during store hours and speak to customer service.

Store Tours

Walk, Talk and Taste in the Oneota Community Co-op
No better way to experience the Co-op than to visit! Enjoy a stroll through the Co-op with educated staff members and learn about products on our shelves, our store labeling system, how to shop our bulk section member/owner benefits, and more. All tours include samples of good food as we walk through the Co-op.

Monthly tours are scheduled the 2nd Thursday of each month, at 6pm to provide orientation to new member/owners of the OCC.

Occasionally specialty tours are scheduled on our education calendars – keep your eyes open for Gluten Free and Vegan Tours. These tours are advertised on our Calendar of Events along with other educational offerings.

Tours are also available on request. Please feel free to contact Johanna Bergan, Education and Outreach Coordinator,  to arrange for a tour for your group or organization. A store tour could be the perfect event for your group, be it staff at work, a book club or area youth group. We will work with you to meet the needs based on your groups size, age and interest.

Proposal Forms

Classes are scheduled three months at a time. The schedules are mailed in our quarterly newsletter, The Scoop, posted on our website and advertised via traditional media. We encourage our educators to support us in advertising for classes they are leading.

Classes are advertised in the following months: Deadline for proposal submission:
September, October, November August 3rd
December, January, February November 2nd
March, April, May February 1st
June, July, August May 3rd

The Co-op Provides

  • Student registration and fee collection
  • Promotion in the publication The Scoop, on our web site and other media sources
  • Orientation to classroom equipment and safety features

Classroom Kitchen Facility
Our classroom kitchen features 1 4-burner stove and oven, 1 free-standing burner, 1 double sink, and a selection of cookware and dishware.
Also available are: a projector and screen, erasable white board, easel, pad of paper, clipboards, pens and markers.
The OCC does not allow the classroom for use to promote products from multi-level companies nor the distribution of campaign literature.
The OCC does not offer classes on health care modalities or classes from companies in the health, wellness or fitness business.
