Produce
You will find that the Co-op has a large produce section with beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables. Most are organically grown, benefiting your personal health and the environment. A wide variety of produce come from local growers year round while others are trucked in from as close as possible. We are conscious of the global effects of our purchases and strive to keep our footprint fair and small.
Deli
Our Deli is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nearly every item we sell is made fresh from scratch daily in our kitchen using primarily organic ingredients.
- Beginning at 8:30 am, breakfast sandwiches are available Monday/Wednesday/Friday and breakfast burritos are available Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday.
- Our hot bar, salad bar, and soups are available each day beginning at 11:00 am.
- On Sunday, you will find a special brunch selection of assorted quiches, Swedish oven pankaka with lingonberry preserves and whipped cream, pure maple syrup, fresh bakery, and fresh fruit – plus our usual full salad bar and two soups.
Daily you will also find fresh coffee and tea, made-to-order panini (grilled sandwiches) and a grab-and-go cooler full of sandwiches and desserts. Be sure to check out our deli menu here, panini menu here, and our take-away catering menu here.
Bulk Foods
Welcome to the largest Bulk Foods Department in Northeast Iowa. Many staple and specialty foods are available in bulk. This eliminates expensive and wasteful packaging, keeps prices low, and gives you the option of buying exactly the amount you need. Bulk items include flours, grains, pastas, beans, nuts, dried fruits, spices, sweeteners, oils, yeast, and much more. Bring in your own clean container, or purchase new recyclable packaging that we have available at the Co-op. Not sure how to shop in Bulk? No worries! Our friendly staff is available to answer questions and help you learn how easy and cost effective shopping bulk really is!
Grocery
Our full service grocery offers locally, regionally and nationally produced goods (with an emphasis on local and sustainable) such as fresh eggs, honey, maple syrup, breads, nuts, fresh and frozen meats, grains, cheese, ice cream, and beeswax candles. Various eco-friendly cleaning supplies are available for purchase, including bulk dish and laundry soaps (found in the bulk department). Even shop Co-op for your family cat or dog food and treats!
Cheese
You will find delectable fresh-made mozzarella, handmade right here at the Co-op. Also other regional cheeses such as Prairie Breeze and Prairie Rose. Expand your palette with cheeses from near and far. Our cheese case is bursting with something new to try every time you stop, or simply pick up your favorite old standard to enjoy.
Nutritional Supplements
People who wish to augment their diet with supplements will find that the co-op carries a full line of quality vitamins, minerals, herbs, super-green foods and amino acids. We also have an educational resource library to accompany these products, as well as knowledgeable staff to help answer any questions.
Body Care
What you apply to the outside of your body is nearly as important as what you put into it. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and absorption through your skin can be toxic to your system. The Co-op carries a wide assortment of naturally scented and unscented body care products with the most natural ingredients to soothe and take care of you from the outside in. You will also find bulk body care products like lotions, shampoos, and conditioners that allow you to once again save on packaging waste.
Special Diets
If you have a special diet, you will find a selection of foods here to help you. Throughout the store, many items are free of dairy, wheat, sugar, salt, or hydrogenated oils.
